This past March there were HUNDREDS of Northern Gannets following the Cape May-Lewes Ferry because of all the bait fish that were being churned up by the ferry. I’ve always loved gannets but have never been able to photograph them because they’re always out at sea. Needless to say I was very excited when I found out about them following the ferry!

Gannets are quite the divers! They plunge dive into the water and barely make a splash. They would often get in some very comical poses when diving…

This isn’t a very good picture but these are all Northern Gannets!!! I highly recommend a trip or two on the ferry next March.
